‘Secret Snowdonia Infinity Pool’ What it is and how to find it?

This was one of those things that you see on the internet and think “wow, I have to go there”. When I was scrolling through TikTok I stumbled across a video of the secret infinity pool which was hidden in Snowdonia and was mesmerised! So, when I headed down to Snowdon last week it was on the top of my list of places to visit.

What is it?

The structure itself is built as a renewable energy source, harnessing the power of the mountain streamed its situated on.  However, the positioning of this structure actually gives the appearance of an infinity pool blending with the surrounding area and spectacular views.

How to find it?

When researching the infinity pool, no article would give the location of the pool away. This is because in the past it has been used as a party location with lots of disturbance to the local area. I therefore understand why the location is not widely shared.

The best way I can suggest finding the location is by having a quick stalk on google maps. That’s how most people I know have found it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t that good at my google maps stalk but luckily a friend I knew was able to provide me with the coordinates. Another help would be to look at other images and compare them to satellite images on google. It’s a pretty short climb from the roadside but not visible from the road. I found that it was easy to follow the stream up from the roadside to reach the location and you can reach the pool from either side of the infinity pool.

Swimming

I got really lucky when I was there as I had the whole pool to myself however it was a random Friday afternoon in the middle of February… and freezing! I managed to get into the pool for a quick dip but it was a suppperrr quick dip! Its great for a dip and the views but there are far better spots for wild swimming in Snowdon if that’s what you are looking for as the pool is very small. I’m glad I was able to find and enjoy this small spot for a little while.

Leaving no trace

This is a super untouched nature sport so if you find it, its super important to make sure you leave the location as you found it. When you head away from the pool, please please please pack away all you rubbish. Any of you who manage to fund it should also continue to keep the location a little bit under wraps. We are so lucky that this beautiful location is accessible right now and if we don’t look after it, it wont be for much longer!

All in all, Its an amazing little find. A true hidden gem of Snowdonia! Let me know in the comments if you find its and what you think!
