The cutest campsite in St Ives- Treenook farm
When I headed up to Cornwall to do some coasteering and climbing I knew I wanted to camp. When doing some very last-minute research I came across Treenook farm, just outside st ives in Lelant. It was advertised as “wildish” camping and had some great reviews so I thought I would give it a go.
The campsite really did not disappoint. The views were stunning, the campsite was small, peaceful and it had great working amenities. Considering how little research I did before booking, I got very lucky.
When you turn up to the campsite you get free reign to pick which pitch you want. All the pitches are at the top of the hill on a field. This allows for you to have the best views. There were only another two pitches occupied while we were there but even if it had been slightly busier there were only a total of 8 pitches so even at its busiest it would still be super quiet and peaceful.
You are allowed to drive up to the pitches to unpack but you are asked to park out the way. This ensures that no one’s scenery is blocked and makes the camping more idyllic. The owners of this campsite prioritised views and peacefulness which was great to see. I also personally loved that it was an adult only campsite- definitely meant the stay was more relaxing.
The amenities at the campsite were pretty basic but for ‘wildish’ camping that’s more than you could expect. The toilets, sinks and showers were all very clean and cleaned regularly. No complaints at all there!
The location was also perfect for us! It was far enough away that the camping was peaceful but was close enough that all the places we wanted to visit were easily accessible. It was also less than a 10-minute walk from Lelant beach and a 25 minute walk from Carbis Bay.
Lelant beach was a very quiet, beautiful, basically untouched beach. There were so many caves around the edge that you could explore and the beach itself would have been perfect for a swim or a paddle boarding session. I will 1000% be paddle boarding there next time I head down to Cornwall.
Carbis Bay was also a stunning beach- just a bit busier. This came with some added benefits of being a company down there which you could hire canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards from. My friends and I didn’t pass up on the opportunity and went for a morning kayaking session to soke up the beautiful scenery before we left J The company was called Ocean Sports Centre and was really affordable.
So if you headed down to Cornwall I would 1000% recommend you go to this campsite. If you do, let me know how you find it!
